Pen Yr Enfys

Sunrise Interiors has installed the finishing touches of the interior design scheme for Pen Yr Enfys in their new premises on Cowbridge Road in Cardiff.

Pen Yr Enfys are a charitable organization which supports individuals who have, or may be, developing alcohol or substance use problems. They provide accommodation, advice, support, therapeutic and treatment services, encouraging people to make positive changes to their lives.

We were asked to create a reception that was “professional, yet warm, cosy and welcoming”.  A waiting area that was “homely and relaxed” and counselling rooms “that should encourage expression whilst assuring the user that they are in a safe pair of hands”.  Fulfilling the brief was achieved with considered use of colour combinations, wallpaper on feature walls, beautiful textured fabrics on the upholstery, blinds and curtains and bespoke canvases to link the colour themes.  The choice of Walnut as the wood colour for the cabinet furniture throughout kept the interior warm and far from institutional.  All items were designed, supplied and fitted by our expert team.

“Thank you for the thoroughly professional job undertaken at 273 Cowbridge Road East. The finishing is first class and the choice of colours and contrasting wallpaper is great. We’re all very impressed” Gavin Howells Seren Group

Solas

Sunrise Interiors were thrilled with the reaction to their interior design scheme installed for Solas at their hostel for the homeless in Newport.

Clifton Place, Newport is a new flagship service providing attractive, modern, supported accommodation for 29 individuals and families who at risk of becoming homeless. The Grade II listed Victorian building, occupies a prime location near St Woolos Cathedral.

With a blank canvas we were asked to create a comfortable and homely interior while respecting the heritage of the building. We injected historic colours throughout the communal areas such as Pugin Red on the walls in the lounge and Yellow Ochre in the entrance halls.

In the lounge we installed a glowing red inset carpet into the laminate floor, sumptuous curtains and cushions with this the room came alive inviting residents to socialise in a warm, relaxing and safe enviroment.

Solas Corporate Director Rhian Stone said the resdents called it their own ”millionaire’s mansion” and that they were very proud of their new home.
